Sarsen Farm

Everything we were looking for in a new base: a state-of-the-art yard at the foot of Lambourn's main gallops.

  • Location

Upper Lambourn, at the foot of Lambourn's main gallops, in the heart of one of Britain's great training centres.

  • Barns

Two purpose-built barns with space for 50 horses, with two horse walkers and a lunge ring on the yard.

  • Turnout

Turnout paddocks and pens across the farm so horses can spend time out every day.

  • Owners

A superb owners' room, ready to welcome you for a champagne breakfast when you visit your horse.

  • Staff

High-spec on-site accommodation and dedicated facilities for staff.

  • Ambition

A modern Flat yard built from a clean sheet, starting with around 30 horses and growing with the owners who back it.

Jamie Insole

Three years as a licensed trainer, built on a decade learning from some of the best in the game.

Jamie began with an amateur licence and a spell with Nigel Twiston-Davies before five years with Alan King, one of Britain's leading dual-purpose trainers. In 2018 he joined Charlie Hills in Lambourn, rising from pupil assistant to assistant trainer during the years of Battaash and Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Phoenix Of Spain.

In December 2023 he took out a joint licence with Dr Richard Newland, establishing a Flat operation from scratch at Urloxhey Stables in Worcestershire. Three seasons on, the string has produced 83 winners and more than £1.3 million in prize-money, with success at home and internationally. Sarsen Farm is the next chapter: his own name on the licence, back in Lambourn.
